Led Zeppelin Covers

Posted Sun Mar 23, 2008 8:14pm PDT by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

Last week, Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan proclaimed that his band has won the opening spot on the much hyped Led Zeppelin reunion tour.

I have mixed feeling on a Zeppelin reunion. For one, the band was all about energy, power, youth and sexuality. Things the older band members simply won't be able to deliver the way they did 35 years ago. However, I would love to see them succeed, and they have certainly earned their place in rock history despite a documented record of plagiarism.

Robert Plant continues to turn out fantastic solo albums and side projects, so why switch gears? Well, a Zep reunion would bring in massive amounts of cash.

I admit that it would be a blast to attend a Led Zeppelin reunion concert, but sometimes reliving your youth is just not a good decision. It's better to let the last memories of Led Zeppelin be images of the band at their peak.

Along with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin is the biggest gap in music subscription services. Maybe one day we can get the Led out online, but in the meantime, this substantial playlist of nothing but Led Zeppelin covers should keep you happy while we wait for those tour dates to be posted.

O.K. #1 qingonping123, why don't you just take your medication as directed? Anyone who does not wish to see Led Zep can close the door behind them.

I was enjoying your many list's, that is until I came upon this one. How in the world could you leave out Rock and Roll performed live by Heart. It's amazing, Anne and Nancy Wilson pay respects and should have easily been in top 3. If you've heard it and thought it didn't belong in this list, I suggest you find some time and take another listen. If you haven't, than this list null and void!

Continued success,
MC
