XTC Covers

Posted Sun Apr 26, 2009 2:24pm PDT by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

I've been a huge fan of XTC for a very long time. They're a band that has flirted with big time commercial success due to their ability to write seriously memorable hooks. But XTC's brilliance goes beyond the simple pop melody. Their intricate and challenging compositions give prog rock a run for its money, and the band's superhuman abilities with harmony is legendary. XTC's diverse talents have earned them a special place in the hearts of musicians. Although the group has never had an album break the Billboard top 40 in America you'll be hard-pressed to find a rock musician in America who doesn't give XTC serious respect.

XTC is a band's band.

This playlist includes XTC remakes by 12 different bands who count them as an influence. And trust me, it takes talent to cover XTC and pull it off.
