The Bottom 5 (Current Most Critically Panned Albums)

Posted Thu Jan 22, 2009 8:00pm PST by Robert of the Radish in The Y! Music Playlist Blog

These 5 albums are currently the critical "bottom of the barrel". These have the lowest scores on the review aggregation site Metacritic.com. If one critic says your music's no good, don't be discouraged, but if they all do, you have a problem.

Take my advice and don't try to defend these in public.

Usually,I don't pay much attention to critics...but...these five are real crap.

#2 said: "Number of the Beast by Iron Maiden. This whole album is built around the concept of devil-worship; baby-sacrifice; drinking goat's blood; black magic rituals; and selling one's soul to Lucifer."

Dude, NICKELBACK?...Well...now I don't blame you for that...

4. Yahoo! Music User -
How much does Hinder suck? Please stop making music and find another profession. Ouch!

5. __A_YAHOO_USER__ -
Indeed, I hate most of the above mentioned. Nickelback's new album was full of stupid lyrics.

Hinder are the most boring "bad boys" ever (seriously, attending a concert [very very] drunk is no longer shocking, just annoying).

Mudvayne is generic, and that album was full of "trying to be deep" junk. The problem is that none of their songs are memorable.

I have to agree w/ #5 though, it kinda sucks that Rodgers is in that album.

Just wondering though Robert, if its based on metacritic, how come "Results May Vary--Limp Bizkit" isn't here? Looking over metacritic, it got "33" compared to Queen's "46"...

6. Yahoo! Music User -
Limp Bizkit just showed up on Metacritic, it wasn't there yesterday.

7. __A_YAHOO_USER__ -
Im assuming that comment #8 is from Robert (name & pic don't show up in my computer)...:

That IS strange, as it showed up last week for me...

Oh, and by the way, I think that "Results May Vary" actually ranks as 3rd worst on Metacritic.

8. __A_YAHOO_USER__ -
Okay, so according to my research, this is what came up as the Bottom 5 of Metacritic:

1. Playing With Fire-Kevin Federline 15/100 (WOW!)

2. Hefty Fine-Bloodhound Gang 28/100

3. Results May Vary-Limp Bizkit 33/100

4. Testify-Phil Collins 34/100

5. Juliana's Pony:Total System Failure Juliana Hatfield 35/100

5. One-Dirty Vegas 35/100

Its a tie!

Runner Ups:

Life on Display-Puddle Of Mudd 37/100

Slick Dogs and Ponies-Louis XIV 37/100

Fun Fact: Two albums with the name "One" rank low with a 3X/100:

One-Dirty Vegas 35/100

&

(One)-The Panic Channel

JUST REMEMBER THAT NOBODY HAS EVER RAISED A STATUE IN HONOR OF A CRITIC.

10. Yahoo! Music User -
Totally agree with this article!

11. Ira -
I agree with the top 3, but Hinder had a couple few songs that are good, NOW AS FOR NICKEL BACK, THAT SHOULD NOT BE ON THERE. THEY ARE #1 IN THE BILLBOARDS WITH THEIR SONG GOTTA BE SOMEBODY. AND THEY ROCK!!!

12. Yahoo! Music User -
the only one that shouldnt be on there is nickelback!

13. Yahoo! Music User -
i totally agree with the soulja boy being garbage! he's the worst rapper ever!

14. Yahoo! Music User -
just listen to the cd and if you hate it let it go! be calm it'll be alright

15. Yahoo! Music User -
Nickelback is AMAZING!!!! These people just don't know real music unless it hasn't already it iTunes.

16. Yahoo! Music User -
Nickelback is one of the worst bands to ever make music. Youtube them getting booed offstage... Hillarious and quite fitting.

17. butterfly g -
He ystop dissin nickelback they're the best and getting way more publicity than any of the crappy bands you like

18. stik -
Forget music critics. Music bloggers have the most unnecessary and overduplicated jobs. Still provide me with entertainment, though, in the form of idiot watching in the comments. I wouldn't mind hacking the skulls of some of these people, but all that would come out is hot air. Certainly not worth the effort.

19. Jack and Jenna -
metacritic? you give NO reason for your spewage.... and why should i go to metacritic to read it? get real.....

20. Marva T -
Who told Souljah Boy to release a second album anyway? The first one was a fluke!
