If you grew up in the 1980s you're quite familiar with the excess number of one hit wonders from the era. And playlists that feature these songs are in abundance anywhere you can find playlists.

I took this list in a slightly different direction. We start with 20 of these flash-in-the-pan bands, but instead of featuring their hit song. We feature their “next best song”. The one that had the best chance of making the charts, but fell short, leaving the band with the moniker “one hit wonder,” for what will most likely be, eternity.

It’s gotta suck to be in a one hit only band, so this list aims to give them all a second chance. Give it a spin and determine for yourself if these acts deserve to be known as more than a “one-hit wonder.”
