Songs For A Trip To Disney World

I’ve been very busy at my day job lately with multiple projects, many of which are highly complicated, stress-filled, Chinese fire drills. Anyway, last week all the stars aligned and I saw the opportunity for a short vacation. Europe was out, as we only had one week and like to spend at least 14 days on “real trips”, so we decided on New England where I spent my informative years. Summer in New England is perfect and I never get sick of returning, so don’t ask me what I was thinking when (after my wife suggested Disney) the words “…sure honey, Disney World sounds great, let’s do it,” came out of my mouth. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t smoking crack at the time, so maybe it was just meant to be.

You see, I’m what my friend Dave likes to refer to as a “human of the future”, that is, a person who spends most of their time indoors on a computer. So why would I want to pack my wife, two small children and piles of luggage into a car, drive 9 hours, and spend thousands of dollars to trudge through huge crowds and the Florida heat in the middle of July?

I don’t have a good answer.

Having never been to Disney World I’m clueless as to what the experience will hold, although my wife and many co-workers say it truly is one of the most amazing places on earth. I’m not sure I can believe that, but I do know that I haven’t seen my daughter so excited in her life, and I would trudge through heat and crowds for that any day of the week. This playlist includes tracks that are somehow related to Disney, an American institution that is a major influence in popular culture.
