Little Jackie Has Love For New York

Posted Mon Aug 18, 2008 2:23pm PDT by Lyndsey Parker in Reality Rocks

Now that twice-dumped Flavor Of Love bachelorette Tiffany "New York" Pollard has found the whipped man of her dreams--spineless but generous Tailor Made, winner of I Love New York 2 (although I hear she's already dumped him)--she's had to find a new excuse to return to the celebreality screen. So for some reason, VH1 has given her another show of her own, New York Goes To Hollywood, in which she attempts to make it in L.A. as a legitimate actress.

Guess Tiffany didn't want to appear on I Love Money.

Too bad, because New York Goes To Hollywood is even worse than it sounds--and that's coming from ME, a bona fide fan of New York's previous fine contributions to TV culture. But episode 3 airs tonight, in case you're too curious to look away.

However, there is one shining light on New York Goes To Hollywood, and that is its effusively catchy and undeniably appropriate theme song, "The World Should Revolve Around Me" by Little Jackie. Here's the New York Goes To Hollywood intro featuring the adorable tune:

Little Jackie is soul-pop duo fronted by the real H.B.I.C., artsy singer-songwriter Imani Coppola, and she's so awesome she should get her own celebreality dating show. Hell, Imani's so awesome, I'd almost date her.

Anyway, in case you were curious about this song and wanted to hear/see more, the offiicial, Tiffany-free video (shot in New York, of course) is below. You can also check out Little Jackie/Imani's own favorite music videos here.

Little Jackie is in the muthaf***in' house!

New York sucks but this song is cool

The funny thing about New York is that she has a boyfriend She was seeing him during her entire stint of reality TV and is still seeing him. It's all an act! At least that's what I've heard. And if it's true, she gets my kudos for hustling, but also earns my disdain for further bringing down the quality of television and black women.

The song probably has to grow on me.

new york's better than her mom. ha.
and imani coppola is very talented. her solo stuff is pretty experimental compared to the more pop sound of little jackie - the sign of a true artist, being able to stretch the boundaries of genres...

I really like this song.
