Posted Mon Nov 2, 2009 2:32pm PST by Billy Johnson, Jr. in Hip-Hop Media Training

The promotion for Rihanna's "Rated R" album, due out November 23, has just moved into overdrive.

ABC's Diane Sawyer has interviewed Rihanna about her altercation with former boyfriend Chris Brown and growing up in Barbados. It is the first time Rihanna has spoken publicly about the February 8 assault that resulted in the "Run It" singer being sentenced to five years of probation.

The interview will air on "Good Morning America" on Thursday, November 5 and Friday, November 6 at 7 a.m. ET. "20/20" will rebroadcast it on Friday, November 6 at 10 p.m. ET.

Chris conducted his first post-incident interview with Larry King in September.

Rihanna's anticipated sit down with Sawyer will undoubtedly increase interest in her new music. On Tuesday, Rihanna's "Rated R" album and its first single, "Russian Roulette," go on sale at iTunes Music Store. The iTunes version of the record will include bonus features, special director's cuts of her videos for "Russian Roulette" and "Wait Your Turn."

Those who pre-order "Rated R" will instantly receive "Russian Roulette."

Also on Tuesday, the video for "Wait Your Turn" premieres on Rihanna's website, RihannaNow.com.

The video for "Russian Roulette" will debut next Friday, November 13 on "20/20."

Below is the "Rated R" track listing:

While she will have lots of money and pull behind her and this release she is still a young woman who got caught up. Unlike many I do not see her as a victim. Furthermore I am somewhat disgusted at the possibility that she may and will continue on to be more successful than Chris Brown. He is too talented to not be forgiven. People make mistakes and deserve to a chance to move on with their lives in a positive way. I pray that Chris has the same chance at resurrection.

God, why did Rihanna have to cut her hair THAT short?!
Okay, look at Rihanna 2 years ago, THEN look at her NOW.

How did I know? I just heard that Rihanna would be on Good Morning America and something told me....the hip hop blogger on Yahoo will write a blog about this.....even though the show hasn't aired and no one really knows what she is or isn't going to say--he's going to think its blog worthy.....and yes, I know you will blog about the interview after you actually watch it...

You gotta do better, Billy.

I wish both Rhianna and Chris the best. I hate what happen, but life goes on. Chris is very talented and that's what he should be judged on. Everything else is for him and Rihanna to workout.

I think everyone can do what they want with their life and her and chris are human beings just like us and they make mistakes just like us so people cant hold them back forever because of one mistake.

Chris Brown is awesome. I just want people to move on, we don't even know what really happened. People just keep making false assumptions about something they don't know about. Rihanna should stop being a baby and move on.
P.S. Rhinna's new hairstyle is absolutely hideous.

chris i"ve been were u r right now and sometimes things just happens, but being in the public spot light takes a toll on celibritys, keep your head up young man and if rihannas who u want to be with don"t let the media circus stop the way your heart guides u. I WONT STOP LISTENING TO U!

yes people do make mistakes, but we have to learn when enough is enough. we sit here and we all talk about this situation like we have all lived it. And personally i haven't i have never been hit and i not planning on it. So i choose not to take sides, but no one knows what they will do when situations like these arise we can just hope god forgive us not people cause they are frivolous one minute they like the next they dont. So if we can stop measuring up with people and start being accountable for all our action, i think our reaction to things would come out different. We are older enough to know right from wrong. If they were broke would anyone really care? I pray for rihanna and chris because this thing is bigger than just two people fighting, its more than money and publicity. Its about there characters and who they will be in the future when the ligths go dim oneday. GOD BLESS.

I have to say that I can't disagree with Rihanna, because if a guy hits me FOR ANY REASON then we're done.

I also have to say that Chris Brown should be forgiven for what he has done and that the incident should not end his career because he is quite talented. However, until he really takes responsibility for his actions I don't think he can turn it around. His interview with Larry just made him seem even more like a tool.

I wish the best of luck to both Rihanna and Chris

wendyml8: no one deserves to be hit, these are 2 young people as you mature you grow, and you make better decisions hopefully that will be the case.
