Michael Jackson's Fans & Neighbors Collide at Neverland

Posted Fri Jul 3, 2009 10:34am PDT by Shawn Amos in GetBack

On July 1, one week after Michael Jackson's death, hundreds of his fans gathered at his Neverland Ranch to pay their respects. They were also hoping for a public viewing which didn't happen. That'll be Tuesday morning at Staples Center. Maybe. Nothing's ever for certain in the Jackson world.

From a 16 year old with her cat "Billie Jean" to an 86-year old grandmother, Jackson devotees from around the the world moonwalked and wept for their fallen King of Pop. I went to Neverland to to meet Jackson's army and Jackson's old neighbors in the town of Los Olivos. I even got on my toes in front of the gates in honor of the Gloved One. Here's a video from the day.

I'm saying as an average person walking into a court where no one knows my life story or has acess to rumors, lies, and scandal I would have a fighting chance to be found innocent. But as someone who's been misunderstood and who's eccentricities taken way out of context into something nasty I would have to cover my ass. Who knows how objective the law will be when the judge and jury already have preconcieved notions of me due to media influence. To hell with what ppl will think, at least I won't be sitting in a jail cell knowing I'm innocent! For Michael Jackson 20 mil is a slap on the wrist, NO LOVING HONEST PARENT WOULD ACCEPT THAT AS JUSTICE IF HE WERE GUILTY! ALL THEY WANTED WAS$$$$$

I wasn't the greatest MJ fan in the world, but last night I dreamed about him, and he was so nice in my dream. I think it is just a shock to everyone for him to be gone and that is part of the hoopla. It is like reality that our youthful years are going by. He was 50, but somehow he seemed much younger; he was gifted and unique and a mystery, a tragic figure. He was larger than life and now he is too soon gone from this world. It reminds us how fleeting and precious time is for us all.

Why didn't the media popular people stand up for him? I just watched an interview with Donald Trump, who allowed his children to be alone, with Michael Jackson. His view is that Michael, was never a pervert, with regards to his children. Where was he when Micheal was being persecuted. I know he was on the side of his own greed. I feel really sorry for Micheal, he was unable to make decisions which would benefit him, and he must have felt so alone, a tragedy.

i have been watching the news about MJ since it first broke of his death. i do think it is time to put him in the ground. i don't know if what he did was true or not ,but i got a question for all of you , if your son was touch by someone would you take money or kick his ass. i'm just as broke as the parent of the abuse child. i wouldn't take money over seeing the person go to jail, now in the second case they were definitly lieing they couldnt even get their story straight. i love micheal for his music and what he did for the world. he was a great star. it always the ones who see things differently, that are true to their craft, alwaysthe one s who live early in life. maralyn monroe, elvis, princess diana. may all their souls rest in peace.

I wanted to see unedited clips of him just being himself, so I went on youtube and found this bit call Michael Jackson Private Home Movies. He was actually very normal and funny! And man what a sweet, gentle person. There's another one at the 93 grammys when janet presents him with a legend award (so sweet) and you can see the true spirit of this man, you just wanna hug him. He made up such a huge part of my childhood and I feel like a part of it is missing now that he's gone. No one touched ppl like he did, some of his lyrics still choke me up. I'll miss you Mike and so will the rest of the world. ~You are Not Alone~

Just the fact that people are posting their thoughts here, shows Michael Jacksons impact. Whether you believe for good or not so good, he had an impact like no other. I hope the news coverage sticks to the good. Remember he has kids, they deserve to see their father in a good light.

michael jackson is dead. the people who loved him gonna talk about him and people who hate him gonna bark about him. it doesnt really matter what anyone says the truth is he is dead and may god rest him in peace

Michael deserves this recognition. I don't care really if it bothers anybody. He'll be laid to rest shortly; so for now, people need to deal with it.
If there is anything that people should be concerned about, it is making certain that their life is what it should be because at any given moment it can be taken away. All that is going on around the globe, are simply Biblical events leading up to Jesus' second coming.
Besides the owners of the media know what they're doing. Even with the coverage of MJ's death. Not everything that they tell you is news, is really NEWS. There is a lot that they are not telling the public.

R.I.P MJ, If you don't like the honors to him, the click somewhere else or change the channel. This is America, a free country. Thanks to our troops. Yeah, he was a bit strange but the 80's rocked with him. He also was and forever will be.....The King of Pop !

MJ is America and vice versa. Let us give what is due him. He is a rare species worthy of adulation. May he find eternal bliss in his resting place. May God bless him.

I,m not too upset that he,s gone just sorry for his family. How come when they die it,s all good things we remember and not the fact he was a pedifile and had a warped sense of reality! He,s getting more press than most sick people.Let him go,i will be glad when he,s buried and off my t.v. i,ll never miss him bye bye pervert.I,ll miss farah much more.

May God Bless Micheal Jackson

Kudos to you Ms Taylor! I totally agree with your decision to grieve in private! MJ knew your love of him and both of you are better people for having known one another. His passing away has become a circus and while we all grew up watching him and adoring him, let him rest in peace and spend the money on some charities that Michael would have wanted. He liked his privacy and I do not see why his family would not have honored this. I hated seeing and hearing all the crap stuff when Elvis, Princess Diana, Billy Graham, John Wayne, Martin Luther King etc died. What did the media do, but find trash on them. Bury the guy with some dignity!!

rest in peace we laove you always

Shame on that NY congressman who is calling MJ a pervert & a pedofile. Who does he think he is! Here MJ's family, friends, and millions of fans are mourning his death, and this congressman goes and says something like that. Yes, MJ may be a little odd, but I believe him when he says that he did not, and would not do that to children. Those people were only trying to get MJ's money.

For tenor from Malta, a star-making role?

AP
Thu Nov 26, 2009 12:01am PST

AP - There's something about the honeyed sweetness of Joseph Calleja's voice that seems to evoke memories of a golden age, as if this young tenor carried within his vocal cords a secret passed down from bygone generation… More »
